Adoptable Dog of the Week-Candy

Have you ever met a pooch so sweet, they had to be named after a dessert? Our Adoptable Dog of the Week is Candy, a 3 years old Dachshund and Terrier mix from Decatur, Georgia. This little lady is spayed and gets along great with other dogs and cats.

Candy’s Tale

Despite her Terrier genes, Candy is a laid-back, easy going gal. You won’t see any of the hyperactivity or restlessness that can make these dogs high-maintenance for most people. Candy will be perfectly content with short daily walks and some quality couch time with her human. Did I mention that this wiry cutie adores snuggling next to you while you relax after a long day at work? Toss in a few treats in the mix, and you’ll definitely be a dream come true for this petite pupper.

Candy is an affectionate, loving dog, but she won’t be pushy about it. She would love to be around you as much as possible, but she won’t be as clingy as your typical velcro dog. This girl is as laid-back as they come! To further prove it, Candy doesn’t mind sharing you and her new home with other pets. She gets along great with other dogs, regardless of their sex and size- although large dogs that like to play ruff might not be the best match for her, due to her small size. Candy is also friendly with felines, especially those who appreciate her sweet nature and share her love of couch naps.

If you are looking for a small-sized pooch that has a lovely, adaptable personality, then Candy’s your girl. To see if you’re the right match for this charming doggo, contact Southern Animal Volunteer Effort for more information.
