While the fashion world mourns the passing of icon designer Karl Lagerfeld, friends wondered what would come of his beloved cat Choupette. No need to worry, it seems, as he’s left her with quite a fortune of her own.

Not that Choupette does not have a profitable career of her own–a popular Instagram account with hordes of followers and she’s a successful model as well. But she’s used to a jet-setting lifestyle that her loved papa Karl Lagerfeld led, and her Cat Daddy made sure his death would not mean the end of that.

“Currently, (Daddy) Lagerfeld seems happiest in the company of his six-year-old, white-coated Birman cat, Choupette, a “divine,” pampered creature whom the designer wishes, he has said, he could marry.” – @vfvanities 😽 Read the full @vanityfair article via bio link dahhhlings!

The 85-year-old icon just passed away in Paris, and in 2018, he told Numero Magazine he was leaving a portion of his estate to Choupette. Dollar amounts vary, but it’s rumored the kitty will be sitting pretty with anywhere between $125 and $200 million in inheritance.

Thank you everyone for your words of condolence. 😿 With a once cold but now simply broken heart, I am going into mourning. I pray that your kind words and well-wishes will help me to put my best paw forward in my future without Daddy @KarlLagerfeld & as my own woman.

Choupette was a baby kitty when he adopted her from male model Baptiste Giabiconi in August of 2011. He immediately set her up with her own social media accounts–including her own Twitter account. She was the first celebrity pet to be bestowed with such an honor.

Happy Birthday to the only man (or human for that matter) that I'll let smother me with cuddles, kisses, and couture. 😽 Happy Birthday Daddy @karllagerfeld! 🍾

Her Instagram feed shows the world what a charmed life she’s lived, and a little bit of insight into the designer’s life as well. Choupette has round the clock care from not one, but two maids who groom her four times a day. She’s served teh same food as her daddy at the dining table and she has her own iPad, which she plays with as she’s lounging in her $13,000 Zaha Hadid sofa.

Happy Daddy @karllagerfeld. Thank you for bringing me into the (fashion) world. 😘

She’s been the star in a film for Net-a-Porter and has also cozied up with Gisele Bundchen on the cover of Vogue. She’s been called a ‘High-flying cat,’ and even Lagerfeld himself said he never thought he would love a cat so much as he did Choupette.

Lagerfeld said that Choupette is very-body conscious, hence the multiple grooms a day, and has been so accustomed to her lavishly designed food bowls, she turns her nose up to anything else.

Happy from Daddy @karllagerfeld and moi. May 2017 be a sparkly as my big blue eyes. ✨🎉🍾

While rumors of inheritance fly, it’s still not known where Choupette will spend the rest of her kitty days, or with whom, but knowing how much Lagerfeld loved her, you can bet she’ll be in great hands as she contiues as her own woman.
