It’s hot out there. You’re feeling it. We’re all feeling it. You’d better believe that your dog is feeling it. When the sun blazes down upon us, there’s only once acceptable way to cool down. No, not a dip in the pool. Not a run through the sprinkler. Not air conditioning. Not even shoving your face in the freezer. Nope, the only acceptable way to cool off in the summer is with a sweet and frozen treat. We all know that. Even your dog.

That’s right. The dog days of summer are upon us and even our FBB (that’s ‘furry best friends,’ if you were curious) are looking for delicious ways to cool down. There’s no need to deny our fur babies from the distinct pleasure of cooling down with a tasty treat. In fact, we’ve got the perfect solution: a Frozen Yogurt Dog Treats Recipe! Not only are these treats super easy to make, Oscar was panting for these yummy treats. He loved them instantly and profoundly. Now, we tend to have one of these tasty treats after every summer walk. Small and delish, they are super easy to make and are a hit at our house. I find it hard to believe that your little pup won’t love them as well.

I used ice cube trays for these Frozen Yogurt Dog Treats, as Oscar is a little guy and wanted something he could sink his teeth into, but you can also use popsicle molds…well, as long as you don’t mind a little bit of dripping, of course. You can get both from the dollar store (I picked up the silicone ice cube trays and found it easy to get the frozen treats out). If you’re going that route, be sure to enjoy this frozen treat outside where you won’t have to worry about the mess. Because your little pup won’t exactly be concerned about spills or stains as he munches through some of his new favourite treats.

Note: this recipe makes 30-40 Cubes, so adjust as necessary.

Ingredients:

4 cups of yogurt, plain

½ cup of creamy peanut butter

2 tablespoons of honey

1 ripe banana, mashed

Directions:

That’s it! Pretty simple, right? Quite an easy little recipe guaranteed to make your pup happy and cool the little guy down over those long summer months. While these treats will be easy for you to make and store, your dog will adore them every bit as much as any gourmet dog treat found in an expensive specialty pet shop. It’ll make summer a little easier for your pooch and keep the little furball happy as well. That’s wins all around. How could your possibly lose?

So, if you’ve tried out this recipe, please feel free to share your comments below. We would love to see pictures of your dog taste testing this Frozen Yogurt Dog Treats Recipe. In fact, please share them on our Facebook page so that all of our Pet Guide fans can enjoy the sight your your enjoyable little pooch enjoying a sweet treat to beat the summer heat.
