Peanut Butter And Carob Frozen Dog Treat Recipe

Makes about 40 treats

Ingredients:

2 cups plain yogurt

1 cup natural peanut butter

1/2 cup carob chips

Directions:

I had some problems melting the carob chips – it turned out to be more gooey then it did liquid. But Oscar and I didn’t mind. As long as the carob doesn’t burn, it will work well in this recipe.

Peanut butter is a common flavour for dog treats, but you might be wondering if there is a reason that you see it everywhere. The truth is that most dogs love the taste and that’s reason enough for dog lovers to gravitate to peanut butter treats. But this tasty flavor offers a few more benefits for your dog.

There are many great vitamins and minerals in peanut butter including vitamins B3, B7, B9, and E, biotin, niacin, and folic acid. These are essential for maintaining healthy muscles, skin, coat, nails, and eyes.

The main role of fiber in your dog’s body is to regulate the digestive system. Dietary fiber works to speed up bowel movements, strengthen the colon, and prevent the formation of bad bacteria in the intestines. It’s also a great way to manage and treat diarrhea or constipation.

One of the most popular reasons for adding peanut butter to any diet is the high protein content. Protein is a necessary nutrient in your dog’s diet. It’s responsible for repairing and maintaining the cells of the body, supporting the development of muscle and tissues, and so much more.

Peanut butter is a good source of omega-6 fatty acids. Including these healthy fatty acids can help to promote better skin and coat health and boost your dog’s immune system. If your dog suffers from skin allergies or issues, this is a great way to help manage them and offer some much-needed relief.

But be careful! When choosing a peanut butter make sure to check the ingredients for xylitol. This sugar substitute is highly toxic and can be deadly in even the smallest amounts.
